Meet your therapist
Educational, solutions-based massage therapy in beautiful Oakland, CA.
Hi! I’m Athena!
Growing up, massage helped me manage my scoliosis pain, hypermobility symptoms, and mental health. To me, massage shouldn't only be a luxury experience—it deserves to be a part of our lived rhythms.
I’m especially passionate about adapting effective bodywork to the complex, ongoing conditions, like hypermobility / EDS and the long aftermath of cancer treatment. We can approach all states of your body with love and care.
There are three pillars to my work:
Relaxation and Connection — Over and over, we see how stress impacts our lives—and in our touch-starved culture, physical presence is a critical part of that picture. This fundamental act of caring attention is at the heart of every session, even the most clinical.
Therapeutic, Solutions-Based Work — Most of the time, we turn to massage because something hurts. Neck pain when you change lanes, or lower back pain first thing in the morning? I’m interested in both easing your discomfort today and looking for the root cause, so it stops being an issue in the future.
Holistic Self-Care Support — As important as bodywork is, we're only working together for two hours, max. My goal is always to help you walk away with tools you can use on your own to get the most out of our time together.
I graduated from McKinnon Body Therapy Center with a specialization in Clinical Deep Tissue Massage and Massage Adaptations for Common Conditions. My work is shaped by the education I received there, as well as my volunteer work at Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, offering no-cost massage therapy to low-income women going through cancer treatment.
Outside of my bodywork practice, I’m also a writer and artist exploring memory, connection, and care.
